Geographical Information Systems (GIS) and spatial analyses find more and more applications within all fields of social science (economics, etc.). While geographical data is becoming increasingly available and geographical analysis getting ever more relevant for addressing real world problems, GIS are no longer the exclusive domain for geographers, planners, natural science or engineering.
