Beskrivelse

Stine Maria Louring Nielsen, PhD Student in Lighting Design at Aalborg University will introduce her work within the field of coloured light.

For several years, Stine has been working as a trained anthropologist (cand.scient.anth.) within the field of healing architecture, co-operating with architects and designers in the intersection between people, physical environment and health. Currently, she is carrying out her PhD studies in Lighting Design at Aalborg University in Copenhagen, investigating the potential of coloured illuminations in healthcare environments.

Contextually, her PhD research is structured around three phenomenological studies, examining the significance of coloured illuminations for the body-space interaction in healthcare environments. More specifically, she investigates how different hues of illumination might impact:
1. How people sense their body and space (Study 1 – Semi-lab)
2. How people bodily practice and experience space (Study 2 - Fieldwork)
3. How people perceive space (Study 3 - EEG)
