Institut for Medicin og Sundhedsteknologi
Organisationsprofil
Department of Health Science and Technology is conducting research and education with a profoundly interdisciplinary character due to the interaction of engineering and medical disciplines.
The department brings together competencies within technological aspects of the health area “from cell to system” with the purpose of developing
-
basic engineering methods to understand and control biological systems (human or animal) for the benefit of mankind
-
methods for patient specific information retrival, transmission, interpretation and presentation for diagnosis and treatment
The current research activities cover a broad area with a technological focus on basic principles and methods for controlling cell growth, activating excitable tissue, and for recording, analysing, modelling and interpreting and presenting medical and biological information. The clinical applications include neurorehabilitation, motor control, spasticity, pain, work related neuromuscular impairments, diabetes, neurosurgery, stem cells, and hospital information systems.
