Sektion for Bioteknologi
Organisationsprofil
The Department of Life Sciences carries out research within a broad spectrum of protein- and microbiology-related areas. We have state-of-the-art tools within molecular biology, protein chemistry, biophysics, bioinformatics, microbial ecology and microbial physiology, including high-throughput technologies.
We are involved in the international research environment through EU-financed projects and the EU-COST network. Our research can broadly be grouped into two areas, molecular biotechnology and environmental sciences. Within molecular biology the leitmotif is a molecular understanding of biological phenomena based on proteins. This leads to a combination of goal-oriented and generalized work, which, together with our comprehensive collection of instruments, gives an excellent basis for the education of biotechnological researchers.
