Organisationsprofil

The Urban Design Research Group conducts research within the fields of urban design and urban theory in general. More specifically, the research is focused on architecture and design at an urban scale, offering proposals for how architectural form and experience, social relations and functions (including mobility and flows), and environmental relations can be integrated and thus contribute to a positive development of cities and urban landscapes. Emphasis is being put on the importance for design proposals to be embedded within a firm understanding of urban theory, an update insight into the values and methods of the contemporary urban design profession, as well as relevant methods of mapping and reading the urban architectonic landscape.
