Projektdetaljer

Beskrivelse

In robot-assisted minimally invasive surgery, a surgeon uses a remote manipulator and a stereoscopic endoscopic view from inside the patient to control robotic instruments that perform the actual surgery through very small incisions. Since 2012, the Department of Architecture, Design and Media-Technology, Aalborg University Hospital, and the Minimal Invasive Educational Center are collaboratively researching various aspects of robot-assisted minimally invasive surgery. Our current focus is on improving the visual communication between a trainee and an instructor or surgery assistant during the training with an actual surgery robot by means of real-time augmented reality. Medialogy and VGIS students have the opportunity to work on specific, related problems in their semester projects.
