Beskrivelse

The network has worked together since 2013 under different names to reflect its nature. Now, the network is titled Interdisciplinary teaching methods in the Baltic Sea Region universities, to reflect the fact that throughout our cooperation, we've concentrated on innovative teaching methods, whether it is in regional studies, EU and Russia studies or other. The network comprises 10 partner institutions as of 2017, namely the University of Tartu (EE), University of Latvia (LV), Riga Graduate School of Law (LV), Vilnius University (LT), University of Helsinki (FI), University of Tampere (FI), think tank Demos Helsinki (FI), University of Uppsala (SE), University of Malmö (SE) and Aalborg University (DK). The partners have different experience in applying innovative teaching methods but since 2013, everybody has made great improvements. The wide network allows us to share our expertise and develop in various aspects.

The overall goal of the network is to improve teaching, learning and joint curricula planning using innovative teaching methods like problem-based learning and project-based learning. Some of the partners are already very well established in this area, some have just started to implement it. The objective in 2017 is to implement the teaching methods jointly discussed and practised in the development of an interdisciplinary curriculum at the University of Tartu.
