    Beskrivelse

Efficiency of implementation is the main theme of the research and is concerned with the implementation of decisions to restructure, transfer, and automate production and logistics systems.

The research is carried out in connection with Carlsberg Denmark as they are about to centralize their Danish production and warehousing facilities to achieve an efficient operation for production and distribution. Thus the production is transferred from Valby to Fredericia, material handling systems in Fredericia are extended and automated, and the distribution in Denmark is restructured.

The overall aim is to develop new approaches, methods and tools regarding efficiency of implementation in complex settings with limited periods of time. The research is conducted as action research, where the researchers interact with the company and actively collaborate to influence the project outcomes.

The research focuses on the following questions, which are interrelated: (i) How can simulation and emulation contribute to efficient implementation? (ii) How can the knowledge and experience of internal and external actors be externalized and utilized to contribute to efficient implementation? (iii) How can the processes of the project teams be constructed to contribute to efficient implementation?

The project group is Professor John Johansen, Assistant Professor Linda Englyst, research assistant Jirapha Liangsiri and Ph.D. student Helle Mejer Sørensen. The project period is July 2006 through December 2009.
