EU Programme Information Society Technologies - Development of a Versatile System for Advanced Neuronal Recordings with Multi-Site Microelectrodes (VSAMUEL)

The objective of the project is to develop silicon-based microelectrode arrays (probes) for recording signals from nervous tissue in vivo and in vitro, and a multichannel recording system for use with the microelectrode array for the neuroscience community. Particular weight will be put on synchronously developing critical support-equipment for performing practical Multi-Site Neuronal Recording (MSNR) experiments. Partners in VSAMUEL are Aalborg University, Medizinische Universität zu Lübeck (Germany), Industrial Microelectronics Center (Sweden), Uwe Thomas RECORDING (Germany), University of Antwerp (Belgium), Istitutio Nazionale Neurologica Carlo Besta (Italy).
