Experimental and Numerical Study of Mixing and Chemical Reactions in Turbulent Flows

A PhD project is carried out which involves experimental and numerical study of mixing and chemical reactions in turbulent flows. Available models for chemical reaction in turbulent flows are studied and implemented in the FLOTRACS code. The focus is on liquid- phase reactions. Experiments are also performed, where the velocity field and the concentration field in turbulent reacting flows are analysed by using advanced laser techniques (PIV/PLIF). (Lene K.
