A new concept of design of a feedback controller for highly non-linear systems has been developed. Currently we are working on feedback control of a deep-drawing operation (sheet-metal forming), the design scheme is based on control theory, non-linear finite element (process model) and non-linear optimization. We are planning experimental verification during the spring semester in corporation with Hydraulico A/S (a Danish hydraulic-press manufacture). (Benny Ørtoft Endelt, Department of Production, AAU)
