The Public Transport Authority (Trafikstyrelsen) in Denmark has been assigned the task by the Danish Parliament to establish a new railway between Copenhagen and Ringsted. This is a major construction project with a budget of around 10 billion DKK (1.5 billion Euros).

As part of its new budgeting model, the Public Transport Authority has asked SBi to conduct a study on the effect of repetition of construction works on cost reduction and budget compliance.

The purpose of the study is to:

  • Review the experiences and lessons learned on the repetition effect in building and construction works.
  • To report on the findings to the Public Transport Authority in Denmark in order to ensure proper document.
