Projektdetaljer
Beskrivelse
Carlsberg Denmark is about to centralize its Danish production and warehousing facilities to achieve an efficient operation for production and distribution. This is intended to be facilitated at the current production site in Fredericia. This site will be significantly altered and rearranged to fit the expanding volume. An automated large scale material handing system (MHS) and warehouse will be implemented. Several MHS suppliers are invited to bid for the MHS. By the end of year 2006, the suppliers will propose different system specifications and designs.
The aim of this research is to investigate and improve the complex material flow within the future Fredericia site by using simulation. Moreover, the simulation plays an important part in validating and evaluating different MHS suppliers' offers in terms of the needed capacity and functionality of the complete system. The task of this research includes data collection, modeling, experimentation, and analysis.
The CIP project group is Professor John Johansen and Research Assistant Jirapha Liangsiri. The project period is July 2006 through June 2007.
