Beskrivelse

The gender issue in cervical cancer treatment calls for an interdisciplinary research approach. Hence, this project takes its point of departure in a severe health problem, the incidence of cervical cancer among women in Ghana. It specifically addresses sub questions on primary actors’ (patients, health professionals) perceptions in the treatment of cervix cancer. The research is positioned in health belief research (HBR)/cultural centred approach (CCA) and argues that HBR/CCA pays little attention to gender and culture issues in the treatment of cervical cancer.
