The overall object of SIRL is to serve as a platform for research, development, and training/education in innovative software development. SIRL is founded by researchers from the Information Systems group in the department. We believe that the future of the IT industry in countries like Denmark will be strongly tied with innovation. Globalization leads to a stronger focus on balancing developments cost with product value, and the emergence of low ceremony and team based development paradigms offers new possibilities for strong user/customer interaction and learning cycles. SIRL marks a move from traditional software production thinking towards software development as new product development.
