Transformative Acts

The research project takes its point of departure in the transformation of the 'misfits' of contemporary urbanity with an eye to discovering and optimising the potential of the mis fit. The project addresses e.g. post-industrial sites as examples of sites that are no longer in sync with their surroundings in terms of time, scale and function, but that offer unique experiential and re-use opportunities. The project includes includes comparative research, evaluative research, case studies and analysis, and seeks to develop design methods and proposals through research by design that deal with the specificity of these types of sites.
