N2 - This Working Paper explores the question: ‘What is research impact in the humanities and social sciences (SSH) and how might we measure, accelerate and stimulate it?’ The working paper is divided into five chapters. Chapter 2 deals with models for impact assessment. Chapter 3 deals with methods and components in SSH research impact assessment. Chapter 4 provides an overview of various discussions of impact pathways and concepts. Finally, chapter 5 takes stock of the co-creation literature and guiding principles for designing broad-based, impact-focused research and innovation projects in the social sciences and humanities.
