D7.9.1 (Final) Reports and recommendations for a collaboratory for kaleidoscope
Publikation: Forskning › Bidrag til rapport
The Shared Virtual laboratory (SVL) is one of the efforts of the Kaleidoscope, a European network of excellence, to promote and support scientific collaboration inside the networks of partners. It can be seen at this stage as a virtual place to facilitate collaboration around several research themes. It seems that the development of the “collaboratory” into other scientific fields can be instructive in order to derive some properties, organisations and strategies to support more efficiently the process of collaboration and the co-production of knowledge inside Kaleidoscope. The main aim of this deliverable is to summarise some of the observations about the collaboratories as existing in other disciplines and to draw some recommendations for the future. This is complementary to other initiatives of the SVL, done in order to design, with the effective participation of some scientists involved into Kaleidoscope activities, appropriate technological environments for collaboration.
