Description

Article in The New Yorker about the Uncanny Valley in which I and colleagues are mentioned in connection with a theory we proposed in opposition to the Uncanny Valley, the Uncanny Wall. This states that viewers' ability to discriminate the technological from the human-like will always keep one pace ahead of technology's attempts to create the human-like. Thus, the Uncanny Valley can never be traversed.
