Fields of Activity
The department’s field of activity comprises all social science disciplines and an interdisciplinary application in teaching and research.

Teaching
The department’s staff is responsible for the teaching in most of the educational programmes at the Faculty of Social Sciences. Besides the basic year programme, these include bachelor and Master programmes in Social Work, Public Administration, Social Science, Business Administration and Business Law. In addition, the department’s staff teaches at Open University, including the Master programme in Social Work and the Labour Market and Personnel Management programme. Finally, the staff teaches at various programmes pertaining to supplementary training offered by a subdivision for external seminars and development within the Faculty of Social Sciences.

Research
The department’s research is organized in various research environments, to which the academic staff is affiliated. The staff conducts research in and across a number of focus areas:

1. Social work and social processes of change
2. Professional life, qualification and organization
3. Everyday life and social structure
4. Legal rights and legal protection of the individual
