Organisation profile
The Department of Learning and Philosophy operates on an interdisciplinary, cross-faculty basis.
The mission of the Department is to do research, development and teaching in the areas of education, learning and philosophy, within the educational system as well as in public and private organisations.
The Department is present at all three Campus areas of Aalborg University: Aalborg, Copenhagen and Esbjerg.
We aim to strengthen the connections between research, development and professional practice, and enter into cooperation with public and private companies and educational institutions, in Denmark and worldwide. We have a close connection with universities in a.o. China, Colombia, Brazil and South Africa, as well as many Europena universities.
Our main research areas are
- Pedagogical innovation and didactics
- Organisational learning
- Education and evaluation policy
- Philosophy, ethics, anthropology and innovation
We offer BA, MA and PhD programmes within the same areas, as full time and part time studies.
Faculty and Staff
In 2012 the Department will employ app. 60 faculty, 45 PhD fellows and a technical and administrative staff of 20, at Campus Aalborg , Copenhagen and Esbjerg.
