Visual Analysis of People Laboratory
Organisation profile
The Visual Analysis of People lab conducts research on how to build systems that automatically sense people and infer information about them. The sensing primarily comes from cameras and the different focus areas of the lab are characterised as:
- Is there anyone out there?
Detection, classification and tracking of people
- Who are they?
Different kinds of biometrics
- What are they doing?
Estimation of body poses plus recognition of events, (inter)actions and activities
- Why?
Including context and people-object interaction plus intensions and emotions
The VAP group is headed by Thomas B. Moeslund and situated within the Media Technology section at Aalborg University.
