Research profile
Mette Mechlenborg has more than ten years of experience in housing and build environment. As a researcher Mette Mechlenborg has a profound knowledge on homemaking, hominess and housing in a cross interdisciplinary research field from several positions at Southern University of Denmark, School of Design and Copenhagen University. She has a deep interest in theories on space,place, placeattachment and placemaking, especially Lefebvre. Her Ph.D. A Walk Around the Weber Grill is about the Danish suburban house in culture and collective memory, and was later published in internationally. Additionally to her research career, Mette Mechlenborg has a great practical experience, first of all from her position as chief of research at BARK consultancy (2012-2016). Mette Mechlenborg has more than 45 publications on housing, home and everyday life, including three books and numous peer reviewed articles. She has been enrolled in several networks, for example Centre for Housing and Welfare /Center for Housing Research 2006-2012, and is a well experienced lecturer.
