Personal profile

Research profile

My research concerns inequality and its territorial variations across Europe and the social, urban and regional policies aimed at tackling social exclusion and generate social cohesion. I have studied local communities and neighbourhood regeneration efforts in a cross-national perspective through ethnographic methods and policy analysis. My research interests concerns how new forms of social investment policies allow for local innovations and changed forms of values and possibilities of democratic participation for both citizens and professionals. I investigate the spaces of social work practices and the production of places in the development of cities and rural areas. My research is interdisciplinary and focus on the intersections between social work research, urban sociology, and human and political geography.
