Research profile

Rocio Rodriguez Cano is a postdoctoral researcher in the APMS section at Aalborg University. She received the Villum International Postdoc grant in 2021, and was a visiting scholar at the Materials Research Institute of Penn State University during 2022 and 2023. During her stay, she measured different silicate materials from the low GHz up to the THz by combining different techniques, providing insight about the boson peak and ionic resonance at the THz frequencies.

She is also part of a project with Corning to improve the antenna performance in the presence of glass, a common scenario in current mobile phones.

Her Ph.D. project was a part of the RANGE project (with WiSpy by AAC and Sony), which provided the design of antenna systems for the fifth-generation of cellular communications. Her Ph.D. focused on new antenna solutions reusing the phone’s real-estate and integrating the new mm-wave 5G antennas with the former ones and user effect.
