Projects per year
Personal profile
Research profile
With the initial research being focused on virology, the recent scientific interests span the fields of stem cells and regenerative medicine at large. The specific topics encompass the stem cells responses to hypoxia/normoxia and mechanical stimuli, biology of adipose-derived and limbal stem cells, and biomedical application of stem cells for tissue engineering and treating selected diseases.
Teaching profile
Teaching activities involve both the undergraduate and graduate levels. As a part of the bachelor curriculum, the main responsibility is to oversee the course on reproduction and facilitate the problem-based learning through the patient cases. At the master part, the main task is to coordinate the course on regenerative medicine and to supervise the student projects.
Administrative profile
The main administrative responsibility is to head the group of Regenerative Medicine. There are additional tasks related to the work in the committees constituted ad-hoc by the Faculty of Medicine.
PhD Supervision
Mentoring of the PhD students is carried out within the framework of the medical faculty-affiliated doctoral school.
Expertise related to UN Sustainable Development Goals
In 2015, UN member states agreed to 17 global Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to end poverty, protect the planet and ensure prosperity for all. This person’s work contributes towards the following SDG(s):
