Project Details

Description

This phd project concerns the MIMO Broadcast Channel, in which a centralized multiantenna transmitter communicates with a number of single antenna receivers. The information theoretic capacity region of such system is known. This work concerns development and optimization of practical transmission techniques in order to approach the capacity region. We take a starting point in MMSE Vector Precoding, which is a non-linear filtering technique, but also consider sub-optimal and simpler filter variants. We look at different aspects such as multi-user QoS, signal constellation optimization, and the effect of imperfect CSIT
