Degradation of tributyltin (TBT) in sea water after sediment dredging

Project Details

Description

Tributyltin (TBT) is a toxic compound formerly used in ship paint. Todays its high concentrations found in harbour sediment is of environmental concern in particular when harbour bassins are dredged in order to maintain sail channels and harbour depths. The project concerns experimental studies on using UV, photacatalysis and electrochemical oxidation for degradation of TBT in sea water from a sediment dredging process.
