Intelligent and Efficient Power Electronics (IEPE)

Project Details

Description

Power Electronics is representing an increasing part of the value in energy technological products. It is a key technology that has to ensure development of sustainable energy technologies, contribute to a stable and reliable electrical network and develop even more energy efficient products. Denmark has powerful and internationally minded companies whose business foundation is highly dependent on power electronics. Therefore, it is proposed to establish a national platform for “Intelligent and Efficient Power Electronics”. The platform will focus on new hardware design tools and components to power electronics products, new methods to control instruments, mains connection and monitoring of these and furthermore, interaction with the surrounding world via data communication and intelligent regulation. The aim is to reduce price, weight and volume with at least 20 per cent and increase efficiency of products to ensure a competitive technology in the future.
