The PITNIT project was a large multi-disciplinary research effort that involved
researchers from department of computer science, department of production,
department of international business studies at Aalborg University, and

The goal of the PITNIT project were to describe, analyze and offer practical
guidelines of the integration and transformation of industrial processes enabled
by new networked information technology. The key research challenges included

• The Extended Enterprise that emerges from a multitude of different cooperating
organizations and associated IT.
• Network-based interaction with the environment using new IT for marketing
purposes.
• The project resulted in two books and over 40 refereed papers in conferences
