Project Details

Description

This project is conducted in collaboration with the company Microsound A/S and is funded via The Danish National Centre for IT Research Grant No. 329. The project aim is efficient reduction of acoustic background noise in hearing aids. During 2003, a regularized optimisation approach to the estimation of spectral parameters has been proposed [K.V. Sørensen and S.V. Andersen 2003]. Also, the effect of phase noise in wiener filtering, as well as methods to mitigate the effect of this noise are being investigated. Furthermore, the project develops a method for voice activity detection, which is generally applicable for speech in a noisy environment. (Søren Vang Andersen, Chunjian Li, Karsten V.
