Project Details

Description

As part of this project a number of researchers from Nordic countries are working together to produce an anthology with the title Remapping Gender, Place and Mobility: Global Confluences and Local Particularities in Nordic Peripheries".

In order to provide a seed-bed for new ideas for collaborative and/or comparative writing and to exchange knowledge/references and provide feedback the researchers met on a four-day seminar at Klitgården Refugium in Skagen, Denmark, from december 4th to december 7th 2012. Another seminar is scheduled in 2013 as well.

The aim of the joint project is to discuss the effects of globalization in a local context and contribute to the discussion of the centre-periphery dichotomy. Another aim is to dicuss globalization in a gender perspective.
