Project Details

Description

The aim of this PhD project is to analyze and develop solutions to provide dependable and robust service provisioning in future wireless networks. These networks incorporate ad-hoc and infrastructure IP-based networks organized in a flat network architecture. The potential of these networks is to enable services in pervasive environments across different network types like PANs, sensor networks, WLAN, cellular networks. The different technologies, interactions between ad-hoc networks and infrastructure networks and the properties of the network types make dependable and robust service provisioning a complex task. In this project this task is addressed by analysis of specific cases. Solutions to manage faults are developed and evaluated in one or more simulation based and real prototypes.
