Project Details

Description

The purpose of the project is to focus on the interaction between wastewater systems and treatment plants so that real-time utility companies can be provided with status and prognoses of the system. The actual operation of the system will no longer be a passive response to topical conditions, but an operation based on informed and conscious choices. Today's knowledge gaps preventing integrated analysis and operation shall be filled with research within process understanding and forecasts on rain and conditions of wastewater system and treatment system. Thus, the system can be optimized based on conscious output choices from the project to achieve reduced risks to health and environmental loads due to flooding of the wastewater system. This will lead to reduced costs for operation and maintenance and make future expansions of the system possible.
