Project Details

Description

Electrical nerve activity is commonly recorded using a tripolar cuff electrode. This works fine but although a peripheral nerve consists of several thousands individual nerve fibers, one only extracts 1 signal. In this project we will improve the recording method by using a multicontact cuff electrode. This should allow for selective recording of fibers from a given diameter. This project is a collaboration of Aalborg University with Bath University (UK) and University College London (UK).
