    Project Details

    Description

The project aims at developing the next generation of role playing games for developing production based on advanced simulation software and state-of-the-art Virtual Reality technology. Partners in the project include Center for Industrial Production, Intermedia at Aalborg University, Southern Denmark University, Interact, Cultivator, and two case companies among industrial firms in Denmark. One part of the research will focus on the design of the next generation of role playing games for production development, including establishing general design rules for the analysis, conceptual design, and programming of these games, analyzing the differences between traditional games and the next generation games, and the possible effects of VR technology on role playing games. Another part of the research will focus on the detailed design of VR-based games and how state-of-the-art knowledge about Virtual Reality can be applied to the domain of games for production development. This will include a detailed technical focus on the design of VR/IT systems. The project manager is Associate Professor Anders Drejer, Center for Industrial Production.
