Does Student Nationality Affect Their Project Writing? Evidence from Aalborg University

This study explores whether student nationality affect their thesis writing by examining the difference between domestic and international students in Aalborg University. Responses were obtained from one hundred and twenty six bachelor and master studies – taught in English and Danish – from the Department of Business and Management. A two-stage data analysis was performed. In the first stage, data was analyzed using a one-way analysis of variance. This sheds light on the students’ decision to write a thesis in order to complete their program. In the second stage, a step-wise discriminant analysis was performed in an attempt to distinguish between the two groups of students in terms of multiple characteristics. Overall, it emerges that the variety of quantitative sampling, gender, and the research methodology are the key factors discriminating between the two groups of students.
