Abstract

The main objective of urban renewal has been to enable residents to remain in their dwellings. This report presents the results of an investigation of changes in the composition of residents in dwellings which were renewed in the period of 1986-1996. And it shows a big mobility in the renewed dwellings. However, only a very few move because of the urban renewal. In the period after the urban renewal quite a few chose to move because of increasing rents. The urban renewal changed resident compositions toward more employed residents with larger incomes, but changes are not big.
