Abstract
The following paper is a presentation of an empirical study on ICT [1] -implementation in a public health institution. The methodology of the empirical research is briefly touched upon, as well as the theoretical background for the study of learning - not in the classroom, but in the workplace. A popular term for understanding learning at work is ?organisational learning?. An epistemological name for understanding learning as an active part of living is non-scholastic learning. First, the article makes some short statements on the issue of organisational learning in relation to technology. Secondly, it presents an empirical study of the implementation of an electronic record in a health care organisation. Thirdly the article recommends a model for organisational learning within health care through ICT. Finally, non-scholastic learning and apprenticeship are commented on in relation to the findings. [1] ICT stands for Information Communication Technology
