Abstract

We propose a low-complexity minimum mean square error (MMSE) transmit filter design for the coordinated beamforming (CB) in the coordinated multipoint (CoMP) under the practical per-antenna power constraint (PAPC). The proposed design is based on the non-linear Gauss-Seidel type algorithm in which the transmit filters for given receive filters are computed by iteratively updating the beamformer of each transmit antenna using simple closed-form expressions. The proposed approach can significantly reduce the overall complexity of the alternating optimization while preserving the optimality in the MSE sense.
