Abstract
When designing or developing products it is a well known principle to use different types of models and prototypes as a driver for the decision making process. But in the pre-conceptual process these types of drivers are often not at hand. Instead the pre-conceptual process is influenced by a large and complex set of insights carried by a number of different people. And the insights are often tacit or unarticulated. During the last two years we have on an experimental basis tried to apply a facilitated modelling process into the some pre-conceptual projects with the intention to identify what impact it would have on the process. At this stage in the research there are several interesting implications.
