Abstract

The switched reluctance generation (SRG) mode is widely applied in the doubly salient Electromagnetic machines (DSEMs). A novel half-controlled PWM rectifier (HCPWMR) for DSEM has a promising development prospect in DSEM. With a 12/8-pole DSEM prototype, the finite element method is used in the simulation. The simulation results of HCPWMR are compared with the SRG mode. The working principle of HCPWMR is analyzed. It is concluded that a DSEM with HCPWMR mode can improve the output power.
