    Abstract

As industrial companies expand in size and number of locations, new means for organizing the knowledge flows need to be developed to support the efficiency and effectiveness of the global operations of multinational companies (MNCs). Most perspectives on boundary objects tend to highlight the boundary object as a static knowledge transfer mechanism. This paper explores the dynamic properties of the boundary object as a means to facilitate a continuous learning process. For this purpose we explore the literature and investigate three pilot cases from Danish industry.
