Forskningsprofil
Dr. Carolijn van Noort is an Associate Professor in Blue Governance at Aalborg University in Denmark. Her research interests regarding the oceans are broad, from maritime security, and blue economies, to ocean health. She is particularly interested in emerging technologies, critical infrastructure, geopolitics, rising powers, and strategic communication.
Her key publications include 3 books: Infrastructure Communication in International Relations (Routledge, 2021), China’s Communication of the Belt and Road Initiative: Silk Road and Infrastructure Narratives (Routledge, 2022), and Strategic Narratives, Ontological Security and Global Policy: Responses to China’s Belt and Road Initiative (co-authored with Thomas Colley, Palgrave, 2022).
van Noort is currently involved in two Horizon projects, PERMAGOV (research developing the performance of marine governance, Work package lead) and OBAMA-NEXT (research project on next-generation monitoring technologies and marine biodiversity, co-investigator).
