Beskrivelse

In this talk we will present perspectives and results from ongoing research in our research group Sustainable Cities and Everyday Practices. We take the starting point that household practices are gendered in fluid ways. Thus, to make effective energy policy targeted households, as well as to avoid unintended consequences for gender equality following from energy policy, gender needs to be understood and included. With the transitions towards renewable fluctuating energy, the timing and control of energy consumption becomes still more important and smart home technology is often promoted as a solution for this. Our research is thus especially interested in how emerging technologies take part in transforming gender and everyday practices.
