Covering diverse topics such as economic citizenship, migration, emerging powers, regional cooperation and competition, regional geo-strategy, political transitions and land-grabbing, the papers explored how Indian society and the Indian state are responding to the forces of globalisation in diverse and complex ways, and reciprocally, how India is making an increasing mark on global structures and society. The workshop also featured a stimulating public lecture by M. Madhavan Nambiar, Rtd. Sec., Ministry of Civil Aviation, who spoke on Public-Private Partnerships and Airport Infrastructure Development in India.
