I wish myself into the twilight - A case story in GIM about aging and grief

This paper is a case story about Mrs. K, who is eighty years old and lives alone. She suffers from both physical and psychological pain and came to GIM (Guided imagery and music) for 15 sessions to share her thoughts and feelings and work with her existential crisis associated with her increased loss of functions and her old as well as recent sorrows. The paper presents the role of the music in relation to the following four themes of the GIM process; loneliness, loss and grief, faith, reconciliation. The music was a great help in the process of navigating in a painful landscape of life and death. The paper also presents a personal playlist made for Mrs. K, when the course of therapy was about to end.
