Immersion in Museum Exhibitions

The “Immersion in Museum Exhibition” workshop focused on designing for immersive experiences in museum exhibitions with non/fiction lab visiting PhDs Daria Gradusova from Russia via Italy and Kristina Madsen from Denmark.

Daria opened up a conversation about the factors designing and guiding a visitor into more immersive experiences. Whereas Kristina shed a light on how we can use experience design for improving the immersive experience.

The workshop started with a visit to The Melbourne Story exhibition at Melbourne Museum, where the participants was given a assignment sheet to discuss the experience of the exhibition during the visit and on our walk to the RMIT where the workshop toke place. As we arrived at RMIT we discussed the possibilities for immersion in the museum spaces and sat down for a workshop to redesign the exhibition for a more immersive experience.
