Beskrivelse

The Tarlabaşı area in Istanbul is a historical neighborhood with a high urban heritage value. It is also an area in decay, as many buildings suffer from lack of maintenance. Furthermore, it is an area of high real estate value, and it is therefore subject to a high pressure for urban regeneration. The aim of the workshop is to develop strategies for careful regeneration in the Tarlabaşı area by means of CityEngine. Based on analyses of the existing urban fabric, regeneration strategies should be developed, which negotiate the opposite criteria of urban heritage protection and urban renewal in architecturally responsible ways.
