Ph.D. Workshop:

Aktivitet: Foredrag og mundtlige bidragKonferenceoplæg

Beskrivelse

The workshop has a double aim: to address intersections of different social categories and inequalities, and to analyse belongings and politics of belonging attached to particular local, national and transnational localities and communities. The intersectionality approach is used to analysing social identities and inequalities as a whole without given priority to one facet or category of social difference. Scholars distinguish between belonging, which focuses on the emotional attachment, about feeling ‘at home’, and ‘the politics of belonging’ which focuses on contestations about who should be in/excluded in the community as well as in relation on the status and entitlements such membership entails. The workshop invites papers which address intersections of different social categories and inequalities (for example gender, ethnicity/race, sexuality and class), and/or analyse the situated belongings of individuals/groups to local, national, trans-national localities and communities.
